Wands Inspired by Marcel Vogel's Work in Luminescence
By Bill HurleyDid you ever wonder who Marcel Vogel really was? What made him tick? How in the world did he have the creative energy, motivation and courage to pursue his unique visions, in a world resistant to change? A small look into a brief moment in his childhood mirrors an answer.
When Marcel was a child he was as active and rambunctious as any of us. He would run, play, and scurry in nature, discovering new things, and using his imagination to animate his world. But beyond enjoying the simple pleasures and innocence of childhood, he wanted to know more. He saw his first lightning bug, and while reveling in the magic of its eminence, asked the question, “how?” How did that glow bug, glow? And, why? Why couldn’t we glow? His mother did not know the answer. The library had no books on the subject. So he told his mother than some day he would write a book on it. And he did. In 1943 he published Luminescence in Liquids and Solids and Their Practical Application in collaboration with Chicago University’s Dr. Pringsheim.
Many believe that this simple story illustrates Marcel’s motivation throughout his scientific and creative career. Marcel wanted to understand the divine nature of life. Where he saw beauty, love, and abundant energy, he stepped closer with an inquisitive eye. Where some of us may get distracted or even grow blind to the positive flow of energy around us, Marcel was hypnotized by the mysterious nature of the goodness of life.
This is not a miniscule or insignificant gift. It is rare in today’s age to find such an individual who is not deterred by the distracting and powerful nature of the physical, finite world. In fact, it is for that reason that Marcel’s experiments and research were so successful. Infiltrating the walls of IBM, and the metaphorical world of science, was easy for a man who appreciated the beauty of all of ‘Spirits’ experiments.
At Crystal Wings, it is our mission to continue Marcel’s legacy. We do so by supporting those Vogel-trained artisans who have the talent, knowledge, and technology available to them to continue creating these healing pieces. We want to continue the message and inspiration of Marcel’s true essence, and to do that we believe the pieces must do the talking.
The laminated wands were inspired precisely by Marcel’s childhood moment of awe when seeing the glowing of the lightning bug. Laminated wands are created by fusing two pieces of crystal together into a dual-purposed wand. When we put two pieces together, a luminescence is created that includes beautiful colors emanating out of the tip. This mimics the natural energetic radiance of all things - something that Marcel Vogel could measure and focus upon is his research. It represents the energy of the sun and stars, with unlimited power, and the subtle energy bodies of our auric fields which we can sculpt with awareness. These laminated wands represent the unlimited positive emanation of light that surrounds us, if we should choose to see it. Each piece is unique, and lights up at different angles, revealing its own one-of-a-kind blueprint.
Another benefit of these laminated wands is the aspect of unity. When we take two pieces of crystal we are exponentially increasing the diversity of vibrational frequencies available to the practitioner. These truly are like adding a ‘power couple’ to your energetic toolbox. We choose pieces with careful intent and much sensitivity, to make sure the pieces are congruent and beneficial in their union. This brings forth an energy of love and partnership in coming ventures, something that Marcel Vogel emphasized as being a large part of the healing process.
